Why is jitsi using bosh instead of websocket for xmpp

XMPP over websocket supposes be much better than xmpp over bosh [1]. Both prosody and strophe supports websocket as well. Any particular reason why Jitsi chooses bosh over websocket?

I believe you can use web socket if u want to… last time we used it too…I think there are some doc in the example folder how to configure it in nginx and there are config key that will allow you to that…but our experience was not great…

Thanks for your reply!

We were able to get ws running. But I want to know if there is any potential issues - why meet.jit.si is not using ws for xmpp. Can you give some more details on your “bad experience”?
