When jitsi-meet local development, how can i use local backend components?

To start local development of jitsi-meet, type make dev and go to https://localhost:8080

But it uses https://alpha.jitsi.org not my local backend components. (Screenshot below)

I want to use my local prosody, jvb, jibri, jicofo. Where’s backend url configuration in jitsi-meet project?

Set env variable process.env.WEBPACK_DEV_SERVER_PROXY_TARGET with the address of your server.

After setting devServerProxyTarget to my local server, jitsi-meet front page renders 404 Not Found (Screenshot below)

Which address should i set as local server?

@dangen-effy Your local server running the UI should be the same as before https://localhost:8080. If you are also running a full Jitsi stack locally (not likely) then thats the address you need to put in process.env.WEBPACK_DEV_SERVER_PROXY_TARGET

Typically people run their own Jitsi stack on external development server(s) and point their local computer to that.

If you want to do development of the UI on the same server as your Jitsi server (Prosody, Jicofo, JVB etc), read this topic

When i put WEBPACK_DEV_SERVER_PROXY_TARGET as https://localhost:8080 while running local backend components, front page renders Error occured while trying to proxy to: localhost:8080/

Have you ever seen this case?

WEBPACK_DEV_SERVER_PROXY_TARGET=“https://yourdomain.com”

Where yourdomain.com is your deployment, like meet.jit.si.

and then use localhost:8080 which is the default for webpack dev server.
