What are the various versions used on meet.jit.si that allows correct record/streaming with Jibri?

Hi there,

I saw many many posts here or elsewhere complaining for jibri failing after various amounts of time while recording or streaming. We are facing the same problem right now (on a 4CPU/8G VM) after 5-6 minutes and 7 people in a room.

We are running

  • Google Chrome 81.0.4044.138
  • ffmpeg version 4.1.4-1~deb10u1
  • Prosody(0.10.0,Linux)
  • JiCoFo(1.0.567,Linux)
  • videobridge version: 2.1.197-g38256192
  • jibri 8.0.14

But for some reason, RAM is skyrocketting and everything crashes after a short period of time. Should we try even bigger VMs to avoid that ? (8CPU/32G)

Thanks

For some people, using Java 8 seems to be the key:

So, if you are using Debian 10, try using openjdk-8-jre-headless from Debian 9.

Note: I’m using Java 8 from the beginning after reading here and there, so I can’t tell about this from my own experience.
