Tip: what is going on on Jibri desktop

Attaching to Jibri desktop may help when debugging or trying to fix some issues. The followings are the steps how we can do that:

install x11vnc to jibri server.

as root

apt-get install x11vnc

set vnc password

as jibri

mkdir -p /home/jibri/.vnc
x11vnc -storepasswd /home/jibri/.vnc/passwd

add x11vnc into the icewm startup script

as root

mkdir -p /home/jibri/.icewm

cat >>/home/jibri/.icewm/startup <<EOF
#!/bin/bash
x11vnc -display :0 -nolookup -once -loop -usepw -shared -noxdamage -nodpms &
EOF

chmod 755 /home/jibri/.icewm/startup

restart jibri services

as root

systemctl stop jibri-xorg.service
sleep 3
systemctl start jibri.service

installing vnc client

Install a vnc client in your desktop machine. If your desktop machine is a Debian based box

apt-get install tigervnc-viewer

attaching to Jibri desktop

Attach to jibri desktop using your vnc client. The default port is tcp/5900. For example

vncviewer JITSI-IP-ADDRESS
