Some participants cannot join meetings

Hi there,

I have a problem which is hard to describe, as I don’t see any common issues at the users’ configuration.

Meetings with three or four participants worked very well on our server (Ubuntu, 4 vCPUs). But now and then there are participants who cannot join the meeting. They were using different browsers (two with Chrome, two with Firefox, one with Egde). I have checked the Jicofo logfiles and found these entries by the time the problem occurred:

Could this be an incompatibility of port usage? But, to be honest, I really have no idea and hope, somebody else has.

Added later: I’m using the Secure Domain feature and a Grafana dashboard, if this information is useful…

What does it mean they cannot join? What is the experience? A reload of the page? Or? Any js console logs from the clients that are unable to join?

This is my problem: it’s a business meeting and I cannot ask the participants much about “what happened” or “can you send me your logfile”. The problem I can see: some of them join the meeting and get kicked out instantly.

I’m not able to make larger tests with technically experienced users, except for my colleagues, and none of them experiences this problem.

It seems that the problem appears in meetings with >3 users, this is the only thing I can tell.

if you don’t have problem holding larger meetings with your colleagues, it’s probably not a memory problem. Are your colleagues accessing the system in the same way as your external participants from a network point of view (that is, is there a dual network setup) ?

No, definitely no memory problem: at the same time, I had an eye on the Grafana dashboard, where the load never went above 40%.
As we are all at home office at the moment (and so are our business partners), the access is very different: mobile, LAN or specially secured networks at government offices. I can’t identify any commonalities so far, which makes it so difficult to find the solution to the problem. I’m really sorry…

specially secured yes ? is there VPN involved ? usually it don’t work because VPN block UDP. So if your Turn server don’t work, you get problems. Test your Turn server by blocking (firewall) port 10000 UDP output on your station and check that you can have a 3-way meeting.
