SIP Communicator in OpenIMSCore

#1

Hi Emil,

I want to register SIP Communicator in OpenIMSCore server. I have a running OpenIMSCore server which I have already tested with two different clients (IMS Communicator and X-Lite). The user registration was successful.

But when I try to connect SIP Communicator in OpenIMSCore like the same way I have configure IMS Communicator and X-Lite it failed. When I track by Wireshark It shows

Status: 400 Bad Request - P-Visited-Network-ID header missing

Any help will be high appreciable

Thanks and regards

Hi Jeroen,

OpenIMS requires username attribute in the authorization header of the
second register request sent after 401 challenge, to be the private identity
of the user i.e., in the form "user@domain"

while SIP Communicator sends it as just username i.e., as just "user".

So, the HSS of the OpenIMS core network would respond as "user identity not
found" and user will not be able to register with the OpenIMS.

Hi Yeasin,

Take ethereal trace while you register with the OpenIMS servers using IMS
Communicator and SIP Communicator. Compare the same. Let me know if you need
more clarifications or if you are facing some other error.

All,

This is not true - any SIP client conforming to RFC3261 should be able
to register with a standards compliant IMS core. SIP Communicator does
not need to do anything special to be "IMS compliant"

See
http://lists.berlios.de/pipermail/openimscore-cscf/2007-March/000751.html

The problem seems to be that you are sending the REGISTER to the wrong
address (i.e. directly to the S-CSCF instead of to the P-CSCF)

Jeroen
