I have a very basic problem with the session establishment using SIP Communicator. I tried to run the SIP communicator using the ‘Web’ version without installing it in 2 machines running on Win XP, it starts, but when tried to establish a session between the two machines I am unable to do so. I cheked the installatiion of the JMF and Java version (J2SE 1.4.1) and both the machines have them. I created two Iptel.org accounts and used them for the two clients and also used the iptel.org proxy at port 5060 on UDP (basic setting). I also did the configurations for the SIP and media part using the sip comm GUI.
My questions are
Does the Web version works fine directly or am I missing something?
If I install the SIP Comm in the machines is it going to make a difference?
If I install the proxy provided by NIST in a 3rd machine and change the proxy address in config to the local proxy will the communicator route the packets through the local proxy?
Thanks a lot,
