[sip-comm] Testing out a mic

#1

I am running SIP Communicator alpha3 build 1634 on 2 Centos 5.2 systems. One has a Plantronics DSP 400 USB headset. I have configured the 2 systems for serverless SIP accounts so I can do P2P calls, and this over IPv6. I am using the SUN JRE 1.6.0-10 rpm.

I have UDP port 5060 open on the call receiving system.

I make a call from the system with the Plantronics headset and can hear the line ring. When I pick up the call, the ring continues for a bit. It is not clear the call is complete and no sound from the mic comes out.

Is it a mic problem? How can I test that the mic is working? Is it a firewall problem? Is a port other than UDP 5060 needed???

The calling system is hanging up. I have to do a powerswitch restart. And I just tested with iptables and ip6tables stopped, so it is not a firewall issue.

Hey Robert,

Could you please send the logs from one such session to our dev list
(dev@sip-communicator.dev.java.net)?
