[sip-comm] SIP communicator configuration control

#1

Hi!

Where does SIP communicator stores it's configuration information, i.e.
account data? Especially SIP credentials and server parameters?

Is it possible to initiate provisionning mechanism from command line?

Is it possible to prohibit user of editing configuration?

Thanks.

Dmitry.

We keep these sip-communicator.properties. The location of this file
would vary with the operating system. It would always be stored together
with the log directory though, so check the following faq entry for more
info on how to find it:

http://www.sip-communicator.org/index.php/Documentation/FAQ#logs

Is it possible to initiate provisionning mechanism from command line?

Nope. You'd have to enable it from the configuration form.

Is it possible to prohibit user of editing configuration?

Yes. You should set the following two to "false" (wout the quotes):

#disables account configuration only
net.java.sip.communicator.impl.gui.main.configforms.SHOW_ACCOUNT_CONFIG

#disables all configuration
net.java.sip.communicator.impl.gui.main.configforms.SHOW_OPTIONS_WINDOW

Check out the following URI for more details on how to use provisioning
with SC:

Cheers,
Emil
