[sip-comm] Register Request - Contact Header

#1

Hi,

Just downloaded the Communicator and was trying to register to the clients
to a Registrar I have.

Noticed that the IP address being sent out by the communicator in the
Contact Header is wrong.

REGISTER sip:colorado.openwave.com:5060;transport=udp SIP/2.0^M

I expect the IP address to the IP address of the machine I am sending the
request from - am I not configuring something correctly ?

In my case it should have been -

Suggestions?

Thx

Hello Aditya,

U need to disable stun. to do that comment out the stun properties in the sip-communicator.xml file.
they look like that:

<STUN_SERVER_ADDRESS value="stun01.sipphone.com"/>
<STUN_SERVER_PORT value="3478"/>

since u r behind a NAT the stun module would try and detect what real ip is being mapped to u by the NAT. Once u comment out its properties, the STUN stack won't be statred and you would get ur masked ip address into the contact header.

Hope this helps
Emil
