[sip-comm] Re: [sip-comm-dev] Contact list XML format

Hello Alvaro,

Wow, I didn't know anyone was aware of that feature. Support for instant messaging and presence in pre1.0 versions is extremely limited and so much experimental that I'd even call it - inexistant :).

There's no documentation on that. All work, especially concerning IMP, is now part of the 1.0 version which is getting closer every day.

Cheers
Emil

Here follows a message from the nist list, I think it should be also placed in the java.net-sip-communicator lists:

A new discovery, groups can be used in the contact-list.xml as well , which allows the "addcontact action" to be shown in the popupmenu, on the ContactListFrame:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<contact-list>
<group name="La isla de Morel">
<contact alias="prueba" presentity="pres:miamol@morel.co"/>
<contact alias="faustine" presentity="sip:lalalala@morel.co"/>
</group>
</contact-list>

I figured it trial-and-error way, looking at ContactListSerializer.java , I wonder if there's some docuementation on this ...

I guess there's more people in this same situation, that's why I posted the original message.

Yes there are, us included but I am confident that we'll be able to steer out of this situation and that it will be worth the waiting.
