[sip-comm] no audio from microphone from local pc?

#1

Hi

Was using alpha2 and found that although I can hear audio from the other end of an sip communication,
Sip Communicator can't send audio out from the mike on the local machine.

Is this a known problem?

PS: My platform is windows xp.

PS: I have tried to use jmf studio and confirm I can record and listen to audio.

Hi Eel,

Can you give more details on your configuration ?,
Are the 2 PCs on windows ?,
Which version of java do you use : 1.4, 5 (1.5) or 1.6 (6) ?,

It will be very appreciated if you can also provide your log files.

Not, I am not a cop

Cheers,

PS :
With wich finger do you click to issue a call ? (optional)

Hi

Doing more diagnostic with various sip server accounts I can get hold off.
I find that the audio out is intermittent for at least one sip server (say
using SIP account A):
    - if I call up the sip server on startup it works, but after I hang up
and call again there is again no audio out
    - if I make a call to other sip servers (say using sip account B) then
call out using A, there is also no audio out from sip-communicator.

I also tried to test sip communicator with a free sip account I gotten from
voip.brujula.net:
- tested that it works with X-Lite sip client --> called the test number
393613 to do echo test
- but with sip communicator the call is connected but I can't even hear the
incoming voice from the echo test line.

Question: anyone gotten sip communicator to work with the above? From the
trace it seems to be using Asterisk which I thought should be quite a common
sip server to test with...

PS: I am using build 726 as that is the version I have that I managed to
find that is more recent and yet stable. I uses JMF Vs FMJ.
