[sip-comm] IM problems between SIP Communicator, Ekiga

#1

Hi All,

I am running SIP Communicator 1.0 alpha 6 on Mac OS X Snow Leopard, and use to it to make SIP audio calls to Ekiga on OpenIndiana (works great). When instant messaging a user from SIP Communicator however, I receive the message in Ekiga but wrapped in what appears to be raw XML.

This screengrab should illustrate this - I have sent a text message reading "Hello!" from SIP Communicator, and this is how it appears in Ekiga:

Any ideas as to what is going on here? I am an end-user interested in seeing all base functionality work across SIP clients, so if there are any leads here which I should take to the Ekiga developer(s) would be great.

Cheers,
Dave

That is is-composing payload, it signals to the client that the remote party is typing a message, Ekiga should check for this payload type and render some visual indication for this instead of displaying this verbatim as a text message.

Hi Adrian - thanks for that the information, have passed that on on the Ekiga users list.
