[sip-comm-dev] ZRTP settings ?

#1

Hi Werner,

Under Tools/Options/ZRTP

Why should one check or not check the box "Trusted MitM"?

Why should one check or not check the box "SAS signature processing"?

Please explain buttons "Standard" and "Mandatory".

Under PK algorithms, what is MULT?

Difference between AES1 and AES3? Is AES1 256-bits ?

Regards, Earl

Earl,

as a quick answer some explanations inline.

Werner

Hi Werner,

Under Tools/Options/ZRTP

Why should one check or not check the box "Trusted MitM"?

Only relevant after this feature is implemented. Thus the check mark
is not yet used in any way, does not affect ZRTP processing.

Why should one check or not check the box "SAS signature processing"?

Same as for Trusted MitM - pending implementation

Both are features described in ZRTP draft. I plan to implement at least
SAS signature processing, trusted MitM maybe some time later.

Please explain buttons "Standard" and "Mandatory".

The ZRTP draft defines a number of crypto algorithms, a few of them are
mandatory for every ZRTP implemetation. If you select this box then SC
offers only these to its peer. Standard algorithms are those that are
usually implemented. Currently ZRTP defines about 6 or 7 crypto algorithms
to use, mayby I'll implement some of them

Under PK algorithms, what is MULT?

MULT: Multi-steam mode. This is a specific mode to support Audio and Video
encryption.

Difference between AES1 and AES3? Is AES1 256-bits ?

AES1: 128bit AES
AES2: 192bit AES (not offered in SC)
AES3: 256bit AES
