[sip-comm-dev] X Server freeze when main windows appears

#1

Hello,

Everything is in the subject. When I start SC (always the precompiled
version of the repository and sometimes with the SVN version), the
splashscreen appears, do its work and then .... nothing. The X server
freeze and I must restart it to use my computer.

Someone tell me that compiz-fusion is the culprit. Does someone else
got this problem ?

Configuration :
Linux Ubuntu 8.10 (32-bit)
Java 6
compiz-fusion : 0.7.8

bye

Damien

Hi Damien,
I am running the very same configuration (Ubuntu 8.10 and compiz) and
I'm able to run sip-com with no problems (both svn and deb package
versions) on sun's jre and openjdk.

You should try to see if it runs with compiz disabled. You can also
try to look into some logs that might give you a clue about the cause
of X freezing (such as /var/log/syslog, /var/log/Xorg.0.log and
~/.xsession-errors)
