[sip-comm-dev] Webcam under Linux

Hello,

I tried to make sip communicator working under Linux. It recognises it but it says : "Can't open video card".

Webcam model : Philips ToUcam pro PCVC 740 K
OS : Fedora Core 3 (2.6.9)

I've patched the kernel with the latest drivers and I'm running Sip communicator from the src files.

Can someone help me?

Hi David,

this thread is more relevant to SC user list, I move it.

Is your webcam module loaded? Is your webcam detected by JMF? Do your user have permission to open the webcam device? You should maybe be in video group, or something like that...

Yes, I've loaded pcwx module for Philips Webcam. My webcam is detected by JMF. I'm running it under root user. When I call somebody, I have the following error:
