I would like to call a vote for granting commit rights (java.net
Developer role) to Thomas Hofer.
Thomas has been around for a while and has been sending quite a few
patches, including a number of fixes within the SIP and media modules, German translations of our localizations files, Outlook Express plugin, Eclipse documentation fixes and so on. He's always been very active on the mailing list and has participated in significant number of discussions, always giving a very competent and mature opinion.

I have not really followed Thomas implication in the project so I prefer
to skip this vote.
Good luck Thomas

Hi.
I´m having some problems with the sip communicator.
After sip-communicator registers to my server, it doesn´t send a PUBLISH and because of that other users can´t see it new status.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
When i update from svn, I get a file called
#.NetwordAddressManagerServiceImpl.java.1.6 in
src\net\java\sip\communicaotr\impl\netaddr.
When I browse the repository, the file is also existent.
Also there are several .cvsignore files, which are not needed/valid in in
subversion any more. Can someone delete these files?

If SC doesn't send a PUBLISH message after registering, it's probably because your SIP account is misconfigured. The P2P presence mode may be forced (as it is always by default).
If it's the case, you can modify it by editing the ~/.sip-communicator/sip-communicator.xml file and change the FORCE_P2P_MODE="true" line of the corresponding account into FORCE_P2P_MODE="false" and save the file.
If you don't know how to do it you can also remove the problematic sip account and recreate it, but this time, take care to uncheck "force peer to peer mode" during the creation process.
Hopes that helps,
Ben.

Thanks,
Yes you are right, the file has probably got there unintentionally. The
same goes for all the .cvsignore-s. Feel free to remove them.
Cheers

Hello.
Can anyone tell me why I can´t connect to sip-communicators using a sip server?
They send the SUBSCRIPTION to the server but the server never sends a NOTIFY to the other part.
Is this a problem of the program or is just me? I really can´t manage to put Presence working...

I don't really understand your problem.
If you mean that the server you are using isn't proxying SUBSCRIPTION or NOTIFY messages, the problem comes from the server or its configuration.
If you tried to use the server as a present agent and it didn't work, try the p2p mode.
Hope that help,
Ben.

Maybe he is trying to connect to the sip-communicator using a sip server. Well, the sip-communicator is a client (phone) software and is not capable of acceping registrations.
