[sip-comm-dev] User Agent Display GSoC Progress

#1

As of right now, I've researched mechanisms to get the user agent for all currently supported SIP protocols, and I've successfully located ways to get the User Agent for all protocols except the Yahoo! protocol. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.

My next step is to print the user agent for all supported protocols (which I know how to do using the 3rd party libraries for all protocols except the Yahoo! protocol). Cheers!

Hi,

I'm currently working over yahoo protocol and support for setting account picture.
There is some change where YahooUser has new field yahoo_version_id which is a string, but I think
this is only a version of the protocol for the client and haven't found anywhere a description for this field.
Have you seen any client that supports this feature for yahoo ?

Hey Brett,

Thanks for the progress not!

Could you please send a short list of the methods that you can use with
the various stacks in order to both retrieve and set the user agent?

Thanks
Emil

I've attached a semi-formal document that describes all the research I've done on where user agent information is displayed and how it can be attained through protocol implementations. If you have any ideas/suggestions/complaints with the document I would appreciate it a lot if you shared them with me. Cheers!
