I've been seeing the following mostly in Jabber and Google Talk
accounts: the contact list UI displays "Unknown user" for some
contacts till the application is restarted.
One example in which it appears for me is just adding a Jabber account
in SIP Communicator. When the newly added account gets connected, its
contact list loads and a contact in it is displayed in the UI as
"Unknown user". But it cannot possibly be unknown because:
- that's not the name or nickname of the contact,
- the contact does have a Jabber ID so, even if the name or nickname
is not known, the UI could still display the Jabber ID, and
- the Contact info dialog lists a nickname for the contact which is
different than the Jabber ID, is not "Unknown user" and is, actually,
the first and last name of the contact.
Another way to reproduce the problem is to rename a Google Talk
contact so that "New name" in the "Rename contact" dialog is empty
