[sip-comm-dev] TLS & HTTP Digest authentication - Libraries

#1

Hello fellow devs,

I'm developing a MSRP Stack in Java that it will be used at a later
stage to allow the implementation of file transfer via SIP in SC
according to http://tools.ietf.org/id/draft-ietf-mmusic-file-transfer-mech-08.txt.

It became clear during my work that i will need to use both TLS and
HTTP Digest Authentication protocols in the MSRP Stack.

I was wondering if these protocols are already used on SC and with
which libraries, reusing the libraries that SC already uses could
allow in the future a more compact executable of SC that allows file
transfer via SIP.

If SC doesn't use these methods and therefore doesn't use any
libraries i was wondering if any of you, that has experience and know
how on the subject, could point me a direction of which libraries to
use.
I would love to hear any input you have on this matter seen that i'm
still some hours of work away from having to use them (therefore i'm
not googling for it and searching myself).

Cheers,
João Antunes

Oh, i forgot, add a library that can allow Secure MIME (S/MIME) to the
TLS & HTTP Digest authentication.

We can use TLS with SIP but it happens through JAIN-SIP. Actually TLS is
supported by the JRE itself so you don't really have to worry about it.
Same for most of the digest algorithms. The part that's not in the JRE
is already implemented and used for authentication in the SIP protocol.
Have a look at:

net.java.sip.communicator.impl.protocol.sip.security

Hope this helps

I am not sure about this one so you might have to do the Google-ing
after all. Anyone else maybe?
