[sip-comm-dev] Some bugs

#1

I have stumbled upon some strange things and possible bugs.
First a question: how do I configure so I can have a different username and sip-address? For example if my sip adress is hans@wx3.se and my account username is something like u1234_6789. (Now I had to hardcode getUserName in UserCredentials to get it work).
- When the client sends an INVITE request it is supposed to contain a couple of Media Attributes which should contain the definitions of the available media codecs. For me it was only "Media Attribute (a): recvonly". I guess this is because for some reason DeviceConfiguration fails, but I don't know why because it says "14:19:10.078 FIN: impl.media.device.DeviceConfiguration.extractConfiguredCaptureDevices().89 Found 2 capture devices: [DirectSoundCapture : dsound://". The effect of this bug is that I can't make calls (but I can receive calls).
- When I send an INVITE request and tries to cancel it, the call is not canceled. It seems to be something wrong with the CANCEL request. Has anybody had a similar problem?

Regards,

Hans

Darn, I was hoping that this case would never really appear. The thing
is that it is quite rare to have one name used in the user URI and
another during authentication. Because of this we have thought that in
order avoid confusing inexperienced users we could spare them the extra
user name field. If you are willing to fix this, I guess the way to go
would be to modify the SIP account wizard and add a tab for advanced
settings. In addition to the authentication user name we could also add
there most of the parameters that are currently on the first page of the
wizard.

Could you please send us a complete trace. I would like to see the whole
message and if possible, have a look at the corresponding logs as well.

Cheers
Emil

Actually, now that I think of it, it would be a lot simpler if we simple
made the username box in the authentication window editable so that the
user could change it. What do you think?

Hi Emil, all,

I've followed your suggestion from your last mail and have committed a fix that will make the user name field in the authentication window editable for the SIP protocol.

However for now the new user name that user types in the authentication window won't be stored and she/he should retype it every time an authentication is required.

Cheers,
Yana
