[sip-comm-dev] Smiley panel

#1

Hi all,

I've noticed few UI problems with the smiley panel. First on Windows Vista,
a vertical line is displayed all along the panel between the first and the
second column. This line usually appear in menus to separate the image
associated with a text in a menu item. Second the buttons have a big right
margin and the smileys are not centered in the buttons.

Both issues disappear when using buttons instead of menu item to display
smileys. That also means that smileys would need to be drawn as buttons and
have two states (normal and rollover). Should we change smileys into buttons
? Does anyone else has a better solution ?

What do you think ?

Ben

Hi all,

Does it means that nobody else noticed this?

Hi Yana, all,

Ok, I'll send a patch as soon as possible on the mailing list to let
everyone test it and give their opinion.

Cheers,

Ben

Hi Ben,

I don't have the vertical line and the non-centered behavior on Mac, but
still the smilies don't look great. If you have tested that with buttons and
it works better, I'd love to try it. I don't have a better solution in mind
for now, so we could try the buttons and see how it works compared to what
we have now. What do you think?

Cheers,
Yana
