[sip-comm-dev] SIP tests

#1

Hi Ben,
Have you seen that last failed builds. Its in SIP changing states and in SIP IM.
Can you have a look and see what can be wrong. I was looking at it
but I'm not so familiar with SIP bundle tests.
Thanks

Hi damian,

I've seen it, until now, i thought that it was a problem related to the instability of iptel.org as nothing has changes in these class recently. However it seems that the problem comes from us, so I'm on it, I'll fix it asap.

Hi all,

First, thanks yana for deactivating these tests, I was about to do this as the fix will take some time.

Second, the problems with the SIP tests comes from a new behavior of our test server which is iptel.org. It appear that now, iptel.org understands some of the SIMPLE messages and parse them to enhance the general speed of the protocol.
One of the enhancement is that when a user disconnects himself from a subscription of another user, the server remember this. When the user tries to resubscribe to the contact, the server doesn't proxy the request and immediatly answer with a "480 User not available" response.

It's pretty good, very clever behavior you'll say. However, this behavior implies that all the presence tests can't be done because we're of course testing the offline state then we resubscribe to continue the tests (IM, telephony, ...). All these tests fails then because of the user appear to be offline (due to the 480 response).

I don't know exactly how we can solve this problem, perhaps try deactivate the test for the offline state ?

One thing is sure, we NEED an access to a SIP server which support and handle (without such behavior) messaging AND presence proxying. Do you know some ?
(voipgw.u-strasbg.fr isn't usable because of the lack of messaging support and it's presence agent capacities).

WDYT ?

Ben

You could try to complete jain-sip-presence-proxy.dev.java.net and
then you will have what you need
