[sip-comm-dev] sip communicator media problem behind NAT

#1

Hello Partha,

Are the client1 and client2 dumps from the same session?

It seems that ur proxy server (the one at the client2 side )is modifying the sdp data sent by the sip-communicator. In its invite message the sip-communicator announces that it would like to receive media on ports 22222 and 22224 and client two receives a different sdp announcement telling it to route all media through ur proxy server. However, after that the proxy server is not routing media to the ports originally announced by Sip Communicator but to the port that the data was sent from 16682. U should probably report this to the asterisk group.

In the mean time u could also try setting the same audio/video ports on both client1 and client2. To do this - make sure that values of AUDIO_PORT and VIDEO_PORT in the sip-communicator.xml have respectively equal values for both clients e.g.:
if at client1 u have

<AUDIO_PORT value="16682"/>
<VIDEO_PORT value="16684"/>

u should have the same thing at client2
<AUDIO_PORT value="16682"/>
<VIDEO_PORT value="16684"/>

Let me know if that fixes it. (And again - it would be nice to notify the asterisk developer group)

Cheers
Emil

No,

When capturing with ethereal u could save ur

capture

trace in a binary ethereal format. That's the file i need. in the

case

of tcpdump use the
-w <file_name>
option

Cheers

Hello Emil,

Hello Partha,

I meant the binary capture files not the tcpdump
output. It is easier to analyse.
