[sip-comm-dev] Sip Communicator connects and disconnects very quickly on Windows 7 64 bits

#1

Hi all!!

Last week I found something really strange in Sip Communicator Windows
client.

I'm on a fresh installation of Windows 7 64 bits and when I run Sip
Communicator, call one of my asterisk extensions and accept the call on the
other side, the communication fails connecting and disconnecting very
quickly.

I've checked the log file generated in the Windows 7 64 bits computer and I
can see this java exception:

08:16:07.174 GRAVE: impl.protocol.sip.CallPeerSipImpl.logAndFail().790
Remote party sent a faulty session description.
java.lang.NullPointerException

When I call from another Sip communicator client to this Windows 7 64 bits,
I can stablish the communication correctly, I cannot receive audio but video
reception is ok. When I try to send video, the call is terminated.

Attached is the complete log file generated from the moment I start Sip
Communicator until I close it.

Is Sip Communicator fully supported in Windows 7? is there any problem with
64 bits?

Note: I'm using:

   - Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits
   - Java JDK 1.6.20 (tried both 32 and 64 bits available at java.sun.com)
   - Latest Sip Communicator version

Thank you!!

Could you please r7314 in which I tried to address the
NullPointerException? I wasn't able to reproduce it and I don't know
much about the DTMF implementation but the piece of code throwing the
exception didn't seem entirely justified (getting the MediaFormat of a
MediaStream at creation time isn't entirely correct even if it manages
to report a non-null MediaFormat because its #setFormat may and, as a
matter of fact, will be called later on in its lifetime prior to sending
any RTP from that MediaStream) so I changed it anyway.

Hi again Lubomir,

in r7315 the solution you've implemented is working correctly  I can now
stablish the communication from Windows 7 64 bits without problems
