[sip-comm-dev] sip-communicator as local app in ltsp client or chroot environment

#1

Hello all

Does anyone had success with using sip-communicator as local app in LTSP
client?

I can run it well from a client as a server app, but when I tried to run it
locally like local firefox it just won't open.
If I'm running the xprop or ltsp-localapps command to run sip-communicator
as local app, there's no output in terminal and app doesn't open.

If I chroot into /opt/ltsp/i386/ & runs 'sip-communicator', I get bunch of
java module loading info (with no errors) and then it just stops and nothing
opens.

Any way, I decided to go with Twinkle because it worked well in
this environment and I reached my time limit for this project.
It still doesn't have true pulseaudio support like sip-communicator, but if
it runs as local app Alsa's pulse plugin works well.

Personally, I have never used LTSP so I don't really have an idea as to
what might be going wrong. We'd need to see logs in order to try and
better understand the problem.

Cheers,
Emil
