[sip-comm-dev] Session mobility development

#1

Hi there!

I am trying to implement session mobility and terminal
mobility with SIP-COMMUNICATOR and
JAIN-SIP-PRESENCE-PROXY.

I have found that the source code for this issue is
"sketched" in TransferProcessing.java (all methods are
empty) and SipManager.java:processRequest. I have also
found some posts on the list (from August 2004)
concerning this implementation.

I would lik to know the current state of the
development of TransferProcessing.java, in order to
decide wether I should write it myself, or maybe wait
until the new version is published.

Thanks!

Hello Alvaro,

I guess that if you want it written - you'd have to write it yourself. It will one day be included into the communicator but I could really not give you a date.

As to whether you should wait for the new version or not, I'd advise you on starting out now and porting your code to the new one once it is done. The sip module in the sip-communicator is being considerably reworked but there are high chances that porting code, from the previous version would be quite straightforward.

Good luck!
