[sip-comm-dev] Security GUI - message popup

#1

Yana,

thanks for fixing the systray popup. My observations (see
also attached screen shot):

- the messages are barely noticeable, on my screen the SC
systray is in the lower right corner of the screen, the popup
 window is fairly small

- as you see in the screen shot the window is to small to hold
the complete message. The message should read:

No retained shared secret available.
SAS verification is recommended

 (without the tags of course)

Any ideas about this?

Regards,
Werner

We have made the notification popup a little bit bigger (check the latest build).

Otherwise I agree that for some important security related error messages or notifications we'll be obliged to use some other more "visible" way to notify the user. However we're really trying to get rid of all error popup dialogs (Issue #480 Non-obtrusive error popups), as they're very much complicating the user experience. I'd therefore go for a solution inside the call dialog. For example we can notify user by showing a red error message below/above the call status bar or something like that. I'll be working on it these days.

This problem should be solved now.

Is it possible to change the BorderText of the security panel during
runtime? If BorderText support this then we can adapt the text according
to the state of SAS. For example if the user verifies the SAS the text
could be changed.

An "inset" error message is even better than a Popup. Also if the user
clicks the text for example the message could disappear, just as an idea.
