[sip-comm-dev] Running Multiple Instances of SipCommunicator?

#1

Hi all,

        I am using windows XP to run the SipCommunicator. I would like to
have one question.

        Currently, it is possible to open the SipCommunicator Client more
than once.(i.e., running two or more SC clients in the same time). But I had
found that we can run only one instance on other clients like Xlite for a
given time.

        Was there any intention behind SC to open it more than once at a
same time(running multiple instances)?. If not, could it be fixed to run a
singe instance at a time?

Thanks,
Vinoth Kumar.

Sounds like that config file needs a GUI in the app.

In the installation directory, there is a run.exe.jsmooth or something
like that. Edit it and find this group of lines:

<skeletonProperties>
<key>SingleInstance</key>
<value>1</value>
</skeletonProperties>

Maybe replacing the 1 with a 0, the executable will allow you to start
more that one instance.

Hey Vinoth,

We are currently working on exactly this issue. A week or so from now it
would only be possible to have one instance of SIP Communicator running.

We are going to need this in order to allow SC to handle the opening of
"sip:" links in browsers.

Cheers
Emil
