[sip-comm-dev] run and debugging with Eclipse

#1

Hello,
I guess this question was ask plenty of times, but I could not find a useful
answer.

"How could I run and debug the Sip Communicator with Eclipse (Windows)"

I already checked out the Sip Communicator Proyect but there is no
MainClass. Well, there is a MainClass in the folder 'launcher' but it is not
downloaded if I check out the proyect neither in the
sip-communicator-src.zip.

So what should I do? I found a tutorial in the web to this topic but seems
to be quiet old because it refers to class SipCommunicator.class which I
couldn't find neither...

So flowers to the one who could help me

Laura

Hi Laura,

one way to run the sip-communicator through Eclipse is to use ant targets contained in the build.xml (see here: http://www.sip-communicator.org/index.php/Documentation/RetrievingAndBuildingTheSources). When you have opened the build.xml file in Eclipse you could see in the Outline section all targets contained in there. Right button / "Run as / ant build" do the job.

If you want to configure Eclipse to run your application using the run button you should do the following:
  - in your project run configuration you should specify as a main class the org.apache.felix.main.Main
  - in the VM arguments section you should add the following lines:

  -Dfelix.config.properties=file:lib/felix.client.run.properties
  -Djava.util.logging.config.file=lib/logging.properties

This works for me:)
