[sip-comm-dev] Registration in IMS - adding Akav1 MD5 authentication

#1

Hi,

Lately I've been talking to Emil Ivov about adding some IMS functionality to
SIPCommunicator

and I decided that I add support of AKAv1 MD5. I took some classes directly
from IMSCommunicator project.

I have the code working and now I'm thinking about commiting it, if I'm not
mistaken I have to become a comiter in this project..

or something, could you help me with this?

I just have to add some gui components: I think the combo box would be fine
for choosing authentication method

- MD5, or AKAv1 MD5

Thanks for any answer.

You can simply send them as a patch. The committer role in SIP
Communicator is earned once you've submitted several patches and after
you've proved yourself as a careful, meticulous and reliable developer
who know what he's doing [0].

or something, could you help me with this?

I am not sure I understand why you would want the user to know about
this. Wouldn't the algorithm directive in the challenge be enough of an
indication for choosing the right method? Ideally all this would only be
just an extra case to handle in the security manager.

Cheers,
Emil

Hi Emil,
You are right, we dont really need an extra combobox in account setup,
It is just nessery, that users know about this feature, thats all what wanted

So as soon i'll be ready, i'll send the patch.

Good bye,
