Hello Yana,

The version text on Ubuntu 9.10 with JRE 1.6.0_18 is non-transparent
and looks like a big text entry field.

Best regards,
Lubomir

Hi,

It is due to GTK look-and-feel. It is known that GTK LAF has many bugs. See http://elliotth.blogspot.com/2006/04/gtk-laf-in-java-6.html and the SUN bug report 6417110 (http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6417110).

BTW with cross-platform LAF the version text looks transparent.

Hi Lubomir,

Thanks for the report! It appears to be a problem with the gtk look&feel, because it doesn't seem to take into account the setOpaque(false) and setBorder(null) calls that we make. I have now set a custom look&feel to the version field (revision 6882) and I think this should fix the problem. Could you please have a look and see if it works for you?

Cheers,
Yana
