Hi again,

You can try to use the 'Authorization' information as SIP id. In fact it
depends on what your provider expect you to use as username, so this may
work.

Hope that helps,
Ben.

Hi Ben, It's really nice to see your mails, in fact the day started
with a new zeal by looking at your response. Thanks a lot Ben.

Hai Amoros, here is the solution to overcome that "Null Error" in
registration wizard, please follow the message.

I have been trying with your suggestions with all probabilities, but
in all cases am not passing through that "Error Null" message.

Today morning it just strike in my mind to give a try by installing
the communicator in another system and attempted the same. As expected
I saw "SIP protocol provider service" was active. So I gave the
information in the SIP account registration wizard. But unfortunately
getting the error message saying "authentication failed for the
account, password entered was not valid"

Here are the kind of account details that I have. I just replaced the
exact values with these dummy values.

Display Name: 1234506789

User Name: 1234506789t

Password:

Authorization:1234506789@2xprime.com

Domain: 52.64.23.9

Following are screen shots that I came across while attempting for
registration.

wizard-1.bmp

wizard-2.bmp

wizard-3.bmp

* *

*wizard-4.bmp*

* *

*So, I tried with your suggestions by giving SIP id as
"*1234506789t@52.64.23.9*" and password. Got the error message as
above said. *

*Hope by looking at the screen shots you will guess what need to be
given. *

* *

*The beauty is I could overcome that "Error Null" problem and could
able to pass through the registration wizards. *

*And this credit goes to "**Elsa**" who suggested to replace the
"sip-communicator.xml" file. *

*This is available in the systems user profiles (C:\Documents and
Settings\username\.sip-communicator) and this will be created
everytime when we start SIP-Communicator, if it does not exist already. *

* *

*So I just removed existede file from the profile, and restarted the
communicator again, it was asked to create accounts again and followed
the same. *

* *

*Now this time I saw that "SIP Protocol Provider Service " plug-in was
active. so this is the one caused the " Null Error" not letting to
pass through the wizards. *

*Thaknks to **Elsa** also. *

*Now the problem is SIP account registration only. *

* *

* *

* *

*Cheers*

if you could restart Sip Communicator after having removed any SIP

account, it may work better.

Hi,

Could you please launch Sip Communicator, set all your accounts to Offline, restart it and set your SIP account to Online. It may not work so try to authenticate one or two times and close SIP Communicator. Then please send me the log (in a private mail if you don't want to publish some private data).

Thanks,
Ben.

Hi all,

Some of you reported some problems to activate a SIP account few weeks ago. I was really busy until now but today I started working on it but I couldn't reproduce the bug and I don't have the informations I need to correct it if it still exists.

So please, if any of you still has some problem to activate a SIP account, update to the last version and explain on this list what exactly happened, what you did and join the log that is present in your home/.sip-communicator directory.

Thanks in advance.
Ben
