[sip-comm-dev] Put SIP-call on hold

#1

Hello developers,

I want to implement SIP-call hold, and have some questions;

1. I read about some work on this issue on the mailing list about 3 months
back. What is the status on that work?
2. Can the "createOutgoingCall" method be used to put a call on hold, with
"a=sendonly" added to the SDP?

Regards, Haakon

Personally, I am not aware of anyone working on this issue.

I don't think it would work just as it is. Actually there are a couple
of methods that are supposed to be doing this in
OperationSetBasicTelephony, called putOnHold() putOffHold(). Putting a
SIP call on hold would have to be using them. Yet, since we don't
currently have this functionality, a first implementation would also
have to be add whatever's necessary in the GUI.

Alternately you could wait for us to do it. I think we'll be able to
have it some time this year. (Possibly for alpha 2 or 3)

Cheers
Emil

Personally, I am not aware of anyone working on this issue.

I started to implement call hold as discussed in thread "SIP call
hold" last updated on Apr 4. I have some POC code to putOnHold() and
putOffHold() methods.

I have interest to continue these work, we can do it together Haakon,
what do you think?

I was basing the implementation on tech-invite examples [1].

Regards,
Marcos.
