[sip-comm-dev] Problens Running the Project

#1

Hi,

I've created a new project through the file build.xml. When I try to run the project this log file appear:

1188 [main] TRACE communicator.SipCommunicator - [exit] <init>
1192 [main] TRACE communicator.SipCommunicator - [exit] main
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NullPointerException
  at java.io.Reader.<init>(Unknown Source)
  at java.io.InputStreamReader.<init>(Unknown Source)
  at net.java.sip.communicator.common.PropertiesDepot.getConfigurationFile(PropertiesDepot.java:275)
  at net.java.sip.communicator.common.PropertiesDepot.traverseConfigurationFile(PropertiesDepot.java:130)
  at net.java.sip.communicator.common.PropertiesDepot.loadProperties(PropertiesDepot.java:113)
  at net.java.sip.communicator.gui.ConfigFrame.<init>(ConfigFrame.java:88)
  at net.java.sip.communicator.gui.GuiManager.<init>(GuiManager.java:136)
  at net.java.sip.communicator.SipCommunicator.<init>(SipCommunicator.java:112)
  at net.java.sip.communicator.SipCommunicator.main(SipCommunicator.java:274)

Could you help me about it?

Thanks,

Rodrigo

Hi, I am running the sip communicator in netbeans. I didn't have that
specific problem but i had similar.
In the configuration.xml located in the configuration directory there are
instruction used while running the project whitch include directories where
the files are located. It seems the problems are in the location of those
files. Your prog is trying to read files that are not where he thinks they
are.
Make shore that the directories in that file are concordant with the root
directory that your program defined.
PS: I had very similar problems while "playing" with the sip-proxy.
Good Luck

That looks like a classpath problem. Java cannot find the class files that
SipCommunicator needs to run. Are you running this on windows? unix? Are
you using the supplied startup script?
