[sip-comm-dev] Poll !

#1

Hi all,

All of us love polls isn't it? So here is something that you will surely
enjoy!

I'm John Smith, a normal user of SIP Communicator (my IQ is in the world
population's average) and I send my messages by typing them in the text
field designed for this purpose. However sometimes I make mistakes or just
change my mind (remember I'm a normal user) and I erase my message,
sometimes a little bit too much: I continue to press 'backspace' or 'delete'
when the text field is empty. When doing this, the default system sound is
played and if I go really to far away it is played a lot of times. This
behavior really annoy John, what about you?

[1] - It also annoy me and I'd prefer to not hear that sound in such
circumstances
[2] - I prefer to keep that sound activated by default
[3] - I would like an option to choose what I prefer, and I think that this
option is important enough to add it to the setting panel
[4] - I don't care but I like polls

Feel free to add a new option and to comment your choice.

Thanks for helping John,

Ben

[2] as that is what the user would expect. Consistency with the system
default is quite important from a usability standpoint IMHO.

I prefer to keep the system-wide setting and thus make the application
blend in i.e. preserve the consistency, meet the user expectations
based on the system-wide behavior. Though I'm not sure, I guess my
desire equates to [2].

Best regards,
Lubo

I get no annoying bip under gnome. I guess sip-communicator is following
the system defaults, and I'm pleased with that.

[2] - I prefer to keep that sound activated by default
