[sip-comm-dev] Performance issue

#1

Hello,
since a few days my sip-communicator takes 100% cpu without doing anything.
I'm on Ubuntu 10.04, I tried a profiler but nothing specific happens
in the profiler.
Does it happens to someone else ?

Do you see this regularly or was it an occasional burst?

I usually manage to get somewhat sane results out of OProfile with its
Java profiling feature in such cases. I personally find OProfile a bit
difficult to set up (I believe OProfile from the Ubuntu repositories
doesn't have its Java profiling feature compiled in so I have to
compile it myself) and get going but... Anyway, if the problem is in
the Java code, I expect it to appear in the profile of the java
module; otherwise, one first has to locate the involved module by
looking at the system-wide profile.

Hi,
it is all the time, I do "top" in my console and java takes 99% CPU.
But the system is not so slow and the profiler says nothing

I happened to me, but it was quite a while back and it was related to sound streams routed through PulseAudio via bluetooth (using the onboard soundcard worked just fine).
And it happened usually during calls - the Java process ate 100% CPU (dual core system with Ubuntu 9.04/9.10 and Debian Squeeze). Killing the sound stream from pavucontrol fixed the issue.
Maybe a regression?
