[sip-comm-dev] pb with sip account

#1

Hello, I'm going to see the source code of sip-communicator but first i would like to solve one problem using it, I explain it below.

   I'm trying to make my SIP account works on sip-communicator.

   It already works with other softphones but i want to use this one. I succeeded using a SIP account from iptel.org, but not the other account I have.

   Maybe the problem is the server name, cause it is this one "sx01.glovip.com", and i've seen that usually is shorter like "iptel.org". So maybe sip-communicator doesn't understand server names made of 3 words? I wonder that.

   In addition, I'm in a NAT so with other softphones I use a STUN, but I don't know how to set it in sip-communicator.

   I'm really waiting for an answer. thanks!

Contact Name in Call Panel

Hi!
Currently I'd like to add some kind of reverse lookup of incoming calls,
which are not in my contact list. Here I found, that there is no possibility
to set e.g. the name in the CallPanel using the current interface.

The entry point for the code is the callmanager:
    public void createCall(String contact)
    {
        CallPanel callPanel = new CallPanel(this, contact);

        mainFrame.addCallPanel(callPanel);

        new CreateCallThread(contact, callPanel).start();
    }

Here the sip-string is passed to the callmanager, and *this* string is also
displayed.
There would be a good solution for my idea:

create a new service called phonebook. This phonebook has mainly two
methods: find (name, location) and lookup (number). When showing the panel,
the number is searched in all phonebook services registered and if a contact
is found, the information is shown in the call panel.

Do you think, the interface of this phonebook should be available to the
public? And the mechanism of finding a phonebook service? Additionally I'm
implementing a phonebook dialog, where a number can be found and directly
called or added to the contacts. If this would be a good feature, I'll
extract the interface of my phonebook in a service bundle, add the reverse
lookup mechanism in the call panel and provide the search dialog to the
public.
However, the implementation of my phonebook service only works in Austria
and cannot reused by you, so many bundles would be needed to cover many
countries.

WDYT about my idea/approach

Thomas
