[sip-comm-dev] Passwords rather into the keychain

#1

I gather that you store all user choices into:
    /Users/me/Library/Application Support/SIP
Communicator/sip-communicator.properties
?

That is not the standard Mac way of storing passwords.
On OS X, all passwords end up in the keychain.

Imagine I migrate to a new computer, then I will probably forget
to take that "sip-communicator.properties" file with me. All chat
Passwords ... gone.

But I will definitely export my keychain files.

Please consider to start to use the keychain.

Thanks a lot!

Right.

On OS X, all passwords end up in the *keychain*.

We did consider this but since SC runs on windows and linux in addition
to mac, we wanted to make sure that we have a platform independent
mechanism first.

At this point keychain support is not on the roadmap but we would
definitely accept a contribution.

Cheers,
Emil
