[sip-comm-dev] on the fly audio stream analysis

#1

Good day everyone!
I need to implement on the fly (ie during a call) audio stream analysis and
edition. Could you advice me in what parts of the code I can intercep and
substitute the audio stream? Protocol is SIP, codecs are ULaw or ALaw. Thanks
for your advices.

Best regards, Alexandr.

Hello Alexandr,

"The audio stream" in a call could refer to the stream that we capture
and send to the remote peer, to the stream that we receive from the
remote peer and playback or both, of course. I'm not sure which is the
case you're interested in. Anyway, one way in which we monitor and
analyze streams is by means of a JMF Effect (AudioLevelEffect),
another one is custom and is used when in a conference call (the
overridden AudioMixer#read method in
AudioMixerMediaDevice#getAudioMixer()). These two are pretty much
codec independent.

Regards,
Lubomir
