[sip-comm-dev] Need some Help

#1

Hi,

I'm having trouble with getting a contents of a text box to a bundle that i
wrote. The package where the class with the text box is implemented is *not
a bundle*, it doesn't have a Activator class. It's just a dialog box that
open when I click on a Menu button that I put.(File --> my menu button) Then
there is a ok button in the dialog box for getting data typed in the text
boxes. Does any one know how to do this dynamically at runtime?

Thanks.

Hi Isuru,

I'm not sure I understand your question. In order to put something in the File menu you should either put your code in the swing bundle directly or create a plugin bundle and register it with CONTAINER_FILE_MENU filter (have a look at plugin/exampleplugin). Either way, once your menu item appears in the File menu, all components' interaction within your dialog box should be trivial.
Does this answer your question?

Cheers,
Yana

Hi Yana,

Thanks for the quick reply. I put the File menu entry using the class
net.java.sip.communicator.impl.gui.main.menus.FileMenu and put my Dialog
class in the impl.gui bundle. It works ok with the menu entry and displaying
the dialog. Is my approach correct? I assume that I can use the activator in
impl.gui to publish the functionality of the dialog i implemented.

Thank you.
