[sip-comm-dev] Missing Joscardocumentation

#1

It would appear that the Joscar documentation is missing documentation for everything in the net.kano.joustsim.oscar package. Does anyone know anything more about this?

Hi Brett,

I've done some research on the subject and here you can find some info that can be useful for you.

I remembered that the Miranda IM client is showing the user agent for ICQ and I found out where they actually do it: https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/miranda/trunk/miranda/protocols/IcqOscarJ/icq_clients.cpp. Have a look at the CIcqProto::detectUserClient method.

Yes joscar has no useful documentation, but for some more Oscar protocol documentation have a look here: http://iserverd.khstu.ru/oscar/. I'm not sure about that, but you should may be use the request described here: http://iserverd.khstu.ru/oscar/snac_02_05.html (reply: http://iserverd.khstu.ru/oscar/snac_02_06.html,
containing capabilities: http://iserverd.khstu.ru/oscar/capabilities.html).

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
Damian

First off, I'd like you thank Damian again for providing such useful information.

I'm able to send the request SNAC and receive the response SNAC, but I'm having trouble using the example code to parse client information. In the c++ src file provided I'm unsure as to what bClientId, dwFT1, dwFT2, and dwFT3 are. Anyone know anything more?
