[sip-comm-dev] mac gestures, echo cancellation, Scala

#1

Hi all!

Since my emails seem to get forwarded here anyway, I thought I'd post myself
for once

1) Mac gestures come to Java!
http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/documentation/Java/Reference/JavaSE6_AppleExtensionsRef/api/index.html
Now with the magic mouse this is no longer just a laptop thing. Does SC have
any use for this?

Also, after years of not updating their jar, AppleJavaExtensions is finally
updated:
http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/samplecode/AppleJavaExtensions/Introduction/Intro.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/DTS10000677-Intro-DontLinkElementID_2
I'm going to keep my OrangeExtensions jar going since it includes source
code, will allow Maven integration, and there's no guarantee Apple won't
fall behind again. I'll update OrangeExtensions in the coming days.
Thank you to Kai-Holger Brassel for pointing all this out to me.

2) Just to repeat what I told emcho, I'm very interested in working on echo
cancellation. So if anyone else is thinking about/working on it, you might
want to contact me so we can compare notes.

3) Does SC have a policy on Scala? Are modules written in Scala welcome?

Best,
Yuvi

Yuvi, Jing,

As part of the ongoing work on enabling wideband codecs with
PortAudio, I'm currently modifying our PortAudio support and it
includes modifications to the echo cancellation (because our echo
cancellation is coupled with our PortAudio support). Admittedly, I'm
not currently switching from the Speex echo canceller but I'm
mentioning it, Yuvi, because you asked for anyone working on the echo
cancellation. Jing, I'm telling it to you as well because you're our
GSoC student working on adding wideband codecs.

Regards,
Lubomir
