[sip-comm-dev] linux ARM sip-communicator

#1

Hi,

We are trying to install sip-communicator on a iPaQ on which we already installe linux familiar 0.8. By browsing the recent .pdf published on this side, it seems that sip-communicator is able to run on linux on iPaQ but we dont see anything about that on the Mailing list.
Our problem is to identify which JVM to install on top of our linux distribution. Blackdown does not provide yet a JMF for ARM.
So which linux distrib did you installed on your iPaq
and which J2VM (JMF) did you use ?

Cheers

There is no publicly available version of the sip-communicator for the iPaQ. We were experimenting with the CDC RI but apart from showing an incoming video flow we couldn't do much more.

You could probably use blackdown's 1.3 version for arm but u'll have to probably modify some of the SIP Communicator code so that it becomes 1.3 compatible

hope this helps

We would like to run sip-communicator on iPaQ and first investigated the Linux path (familiar) but face the problem of finding a good JMF running on ARM.

So we look at the pocket PC alternative.

Did someone already tried sip-communicator on pocket-PC, and if Yes does it run with which JMF and JVM ?

thanks for the support
