[sip-comm-dev] Jingle support in SIP Communicator

#1

According to http://www.sip-communicator.org/index.php/Main/News someone
named Symphorien Wanko has implemented support for Jingle in SIP
Communicator. That's great!

We are working to finalize the Jingle specifications soon, so if you
have any feedback, please let me know or post to the standards@xmpp.org
mailing list <http://mail.jabber.org/mailman/listinfo/standards>.

The most relevant specs are here:

http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0166.html
http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0167.html
http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0176.html

(That last spec depends on the IETF's ICE work, which should be done
soon, enabling us to approve the Jingle specs and issue permanent
namespaces.)

Thanks!

Peter

Yes, we are also quite happy with this!

Sympho might have some thoughts to share on this one. Personally, I
can't think of anything in particular. We used the implementation from
igniterealtime.org that's included inside the smack lib, so we haven't
really been exposed that much to the specifics of the protocol itself.

However, as I mentioned in another thread, we only have basic audio
support right now and we still need to do a lot of testing and
stabilization, so thanks for the note! We'll definitely let you know if
something pops up along the way.

Cheers
Emil

As Emil said, I haven't worked at the "jingle level" but with the lib provided by jivesoftware. I gave some feedbacks to jive's guys.

Since I still work on it, I would send you feedbacks related to jingle if any.

Great, thanks. I will ping the Jive guys again, too.
