[sip-comm-dev] Implementing a SpellChecker

#1

HI Yana,

I was working on two different approaches. Porting the Damian's code
to the latest build and working on a fresh spell-checker
implementation based on the JOrtho API.

For now the port of the core spell checker code written by Damain is
done. I have made a post with the patch. Now wondering if I should
spend my efforts on a fresh implementation.

As Emcho was not much confident on the previously written spellchecker
code, the code was even not included in the trunk after gsoc 2008 . if
only I could get some feedbacks on the code design.

Yana, were you mentoring the project during gsoc 2008?

Regards
Nitish

Ok, I understand.

That's great! Thanks for the patch!

Otherwise, in one of your previous mails you were saying that JMySpell reveals to be a better choice than JOrtho, because it's designed better and supports multiple locales. If you still have same opinion and if we'll need a new user interface for the existing spellchecker implementation, then I think it could be a better idea to continue in that direction. What do you think?

As Emcho was not much confident on the previously written spellchecker
code, the code was even not included in the trunk after gsoc 2008 . if
only I could get some feedbacks on the code design.

I'll review it asap and would try to give you feedback this week.

Cheers,
Yana
