[sip-comm-dev] How to use Call Transfer

#1

Hi all, I wanted to make session transfer using sip-communicator client but couldn't do it. I tried to do this by sending another invite from within another session but when i see it with wireshark, it sends it as a new invite (not even as a re-invite). The following page describes what should happen when one wants to transfer a call, but didn't say anything how we can achieve this.

http://www.sip-communicator.org/index.php/Development/CallTransfer

Please can anyone describe to me how I can transfer call. BTW, I also want to use DTMF but couldn't get the keypad. The version that I'm using is: 1.0-alpha3-nightly.build.2543.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Did you mean implementing or using it?

SIP Communicator currently supports this so you could have a look at the
transfer methods in OperationSetBasicTelephonySipImpl to get a picture
of how things should be implemented.

If you were asking how to use the feature, then you need to click on the
tiny phone receiver with the arrow, right next to the padlock in the
call window. You then have to enter a destination address. If a session
with that address already exists SC will execute an attended transfer
and a blind one otherwise.

Note that the GUI here is going to be improved in the following month or
two.

Cheers,
Emil
