[sip-comm-dev] How to generate the Binaries?

#1

Hi,

I have a contributed version with support for Jingle Nodes, and I would like
to know how to generate the binaries for Mac/Windows/Linux.
Also, how is the simplest way to add an icon to the call window to indicate
the usage of Jingle Nodes?

(sorry for the previous post in the wrong topic)

Do you already have an icon in mind? Where do you think it would suit best in the call window? We can put it on the left of the padlock icon and add a tooltip to it, explaining the Jingle Nodes functionality. WDYT?

Cheers,
Yana

It's pretty simple actually. You can use the "dmg" target for Mac,
"build-installation-wix" or "ant build-installation-wix-64" for windows
32/64 installers and "deb" for deb packages.

Note that you need to have JarBundler to create the mac installers and
WIX for the windows ones.

Yes Yana, your suggestion is perfect I have an icon, the current resolution
is quite big, we may convert it to a small icon.

Which Format and size do you recommend?

Hi Thiago,

16x16 would be perfect. I see that other icons we show there are all white on transparent background, because they're shown on a grey background. If you have problems making your icon white, you could send it here and I can see what I can do.

Cheers,
Yana

What is the best way to add it to the Call Screen?

Hi Thiago,

Hi,

Thanks for the Reply.
The Icon can be found at: http://jinglenodes.googlecode.com/files/jn-icon.png

Could you please send me an svg version, so that I could scale it properly and also remove the white background (sorry I forget to mention this earlier).

What is the best way to add it to the Call Screen?

We could for example add a method in CallPeerRenderer (net.java.sip.communicator.impl.gui.main.call) setJingleNodesOn(boolean isJingleNodesOn) and implement it in OneToOneCallPeerPanel and ConferencePeerPanel in the same way as setMute is implemented. Then call setJingleNodesOn() in the appropriate listeners. Does this make sense?

Cheers,
Yana
