Hi,
I think it has to do with the fact that, for a reason unknown to me,
any SWING Java application doesn't work with beryl enabled. Maybe it
has to with the way beryl renders widgets or something like that. Same
thing happends to me when I try to run NetBeans on beryl, so I highly
doubt it's a Sip-Communicator issue.

Hope this helps,
Mihai

Frostwire/Limewire has the same problem.

From what my Google-fu tells me it's a known issue that has been fixed

in the latest release of Java 6
(http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6429775), but I'm
too lazy to see if it works (I just switch over to Metacity when I
want to run a Java app).
