engineering, university of Moratuwa sri lanka. This is the first time i am
participating for the gsoc.I am interested in doing the project "voice mail
notification" project which is categorized under the "protocol operation".I
have already downloaded the source code from the SVN repository, compile and
run it with the help of eclipse and ant.In the source package there are lots
of sub packages.can any body tell me what packages should i refer for the
development of above mentioned project (voice mail notification).Actually i
want to know to where(the classes or packages)the extensions in the future
developments over the above project idea are linked.

Hi,

after you have checkout the sources and has successfully compile and
run them its time to start reading the documentation(Creating
Services,....). Most of your questions are answered there (the
structure of the project and the packages in it) :
http://www.sip-communicator.org/index.php/Documentation/DeveloperDocumentation
Then as said in the description of the project "Voicemail ...." it is
an extension of the SIP protocol, you can find where is the sip
protocol, in the implementations package where are other protocols
situated, and take a look in it.
If you have still have some question don't hesitate to ask

Cheers
damencho

status SIP-videocalls using windows?

Dear All,

I was testing again SC latest version (nb 2490) calling between Berlin and Vienna using SIP-iptel with WinXP on both ends.

zRTP-Audio works well (sound a bit more distant/silent comparing with skype), however after pushing “toggle video” the sound stopps and the connection interrupts.

This issue has been reported previously - any updates in the near future?

kind regards, MS

Hi,

Yes we know that using video with iptel does not work well. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
We have reported this issue to iptel mailing-list, here is the latest post http://lists.iptel.org/pipermail/services/2010-February/000116.html. It seems it has not yet been fixed.

Regards,

Hi Sebastien,
thx for the fast reply - which other free SIP provider could be recommended meanwhile (which also supports zRTP & Video)?

Hi,

One alternative could be the french SIP provider ippi.fr. We have made some tests with it and it works well.

Dear All,
i have just tested SC-nb2496 between Berlin and Vienna (WinXP on both ends) with Video
calls.
with all providers tested (iptel.org, sip.antisip.com, ippi.fr, sipphone.com) the
videocalls under Windows XP failed
(all with similar scenario: audio stops, connection interrupts)

The video preview is working now (in difference to my last email; it could be fixed with
rebooting the system).

kind regards, MS
